Artvesti: Gisel, прежде всего, хотелось бы узнать: как чувствуют себя победительницы международных конкурсов красоты? Что для вас значит эта награда?
Gisel: Честно говоря, я никогда не могла себе представить, что однажды стану королевой красоты, и получу такой престижный титул. Тем более, в США! Для меня это больше похоже на сон, но постепенно я привыкаю к новой действительности, и к той ответственности, которую подразумевает под собой титул.
Artvesti: Расскажите подробнее о своём титуле. Что он означает для вас и для окружающих?
Gisel: В июле этого года я приняла участие в конкурсе Miss Swimsuit Beauty US Nation, который проходил в рамках недели моды Super Chic Miami Swim Week 2022, в Майами, штат Флорида. Для меня это был новый и необычный опыт. Помимо навыков, которыми должна обладать профессиональная модель, участницы так же должны были раскрыть свою личность, донести до жюри, как будут распоряжаться своим титулом в случае победы – например, мотивировать других женщин, заниматься благотворительностью или создавать новые интересные проекты. То есть отбор проходил не только исходя из внешних данных, но и из жизненных принципов участниц, их уникальных качеств и индивидуальности.
Поэтому для меня мой титул – это миссия и особый статус.
Artvesti: В чем заключается миссия вашего титула?
Gisel: Я бы хотела представлять не только себя, но и всех женщин, которые работают над собой, упорно трудятся, и не боятся ставить высокую планку. Мы все разные, но каждая из нас – по-своему прекрасна, и у каждой есть шанс добиться высокого результата и проявить себя, не важно, откуда она родом, и какой ее изначальный бэкграунд.
Artvesti: Хотелось бы немного узнать о вашем прошлом и о том, что сподвигло Вас заняться модельной карьерой.
Gisel: Я родилась в Аргентине, и привыкла упорно работать для достижения своих целей. Я получила образование в другой сфере, и работала во многих компаниях. Пять лет назад я решила серьезно заняться модельной карьерой, и посвятить этому свою жизнь. Во-первых, это помогло мне преодолеть мою природную застенчивость, и стать более уверенной в себе. А во-вторых, открыло передо мной новые горизонты и возможность узнать мир.
Artvesti: О модельном бизнесе существует много мифов и стереотипов. Какой из них вы хотели бы разрушить?
Gisel: Многие считают, что успех в модельной карьере зависит от того, насколько откровенно ты готов показать себя, своё тело. Это не имеет ничего общего с реальностью. Ты можешь быть ещё более красивым и уникальным, если демонстрируешь скромность и профессионализм.
Artvesti: Уверены, что титул открывает перед вами много возможностей. Какие у вас планы на будущее?
Gisel: Я планирую добиться ещё больших успехов в модельной карьере – участвовать в фотосъемках и международных показах. В частности, я собираюсь принять участие в Milan Fashion Week, в неделе моды в Стамбуле, и, конечно, в разных штатах США. Во всех этих событиях меня будет представлять компания Super Chic Fashion Week.
Artvesti: Вы говорили, что любая женщина может добиться таких же результатов, если будет упорно работать. Что бы вы пожелали тем, кто все еще сомневается?
Gisel: Все, чего ты захочешь добиться в жизни, потребует от тебя усилий и борьбы. Успеха добьётся тот, кто продолжает пробовать, и никогда не сдаётся.
GRACIELA GISEL BERNAR, A RISING STAR IN THE INTERNATIONAL FASHION INDUSTRY.
Nowadays the beauty contests are becoming more and more popular, but being a participant, and, moreover, winning, is still a difficult task and an impossible dream for many girls. We had a chance to talk to an Argentinean model – Graciela Gisel Bernar (or simply Gisel), who recently became a finalist of the American beauty pageant Miss US Nation Pageants and received the title of Miss Swimsuit Beauty International US Nation 2022.
Artvesti: Gisel, first of all, I would like to know: how do the winners of international beauty contests feel? What does this award mean to you?
Gisel: Honestly, I could never imagine that one day I would become a beauty queen and receive such a prestigious title. Especially in the United States. For me it is more like a dream, but gradually I get used to the new reality, and to the responsibility that the title implies.
Artvesti: Tell us more about your title. What does it mean for you and for other people?
Gisel: In July of this year, I competed in the Miss Swimsuit Beauty US Nation pageant at Super Chic Miami Swim Week 2022 in Miami, Florida. For me it was a new and unusual experience. In addition to the skills that a professional model should have, the participants also had to reveal their personality, convey to the jury how they will implement their title if they win – for example, motivate other women, do charity work or create new interesting projects. The selection took place not only on the basis of the appearance, but also on the life principles of each participant, their unique qualities and individuality.
Therefore, for me, my title is a mission and a special status.
Artvesti: What is the mission of your title?
Gisel: I’d like to represent not only myself, but all the women who work on themselves, work hard, and are not afraid to set the bar high. We are all different, but each of us is beautiful in her own way, and each of us has a chance to achieve a high result and prove herself, no matter where she comes from, and what her initial background is.
Artvesti: I would like to know a little more about your past and what inspired you to pursue a modeling career.
Gisel: I was born in Argentina and used to work hard to achieve my goals. I was educated in a different field and worked in many companies. Five years ago, I decided to seriously pursue a modeling career and dedicate my life to it. First, it helped me to overcome my natural shyness and become more self-confident. And secondly, it opened up new horizons for me and the opportunity to know the world.
Artvesti: There are many myths and stereotypes about the modeling business. Which one would you like to destroy?
Gisel: Most of people believe that success in a modeling career depends on how frankly you are ready to show yourself, your body. This has nothing to do with reality. You can be even more beautiful and unique if you show modesty and professionalism.
Artvesti: We are sure that your title opens up many opportunities for you. What are your plans for the future?
Gisel: I plan to achieve even greater success in my modeling career – to participate in the photoshoots for the magazines and international fashion shows. For example, I’m going to take part in the fashion weeks in Milan, Italy, and Istanbul, Turkey. And, of course, in different states of the US.
In all these events I will be represented by Super Chic Fashion Week.
Artvesti: You said that any woman can achieve the same results if she works hard. What would you wish to those who still doubt?
Gisel: Anything you want to reach in your life will require effort and struggle from you. Success will be achieved by those who keep trying and never give up.
